RH Police: Engagement Ring Given to Wrong Customer

The following information was supplied by the Richmond Heights Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, June 1

  • Someone forcibly entered the victim’s vehicle while parked in the St. Louis Galleria parking garage stealing his Pioneer car stereo and Apple iPod. There are no suspects.
  • Someone forcibly entered the victim’s vehicle at The Boulevard by breaking out the rear window and stealing an HP laptop computer.  There are no suspects.
  • An engagement ring valued at more than $2,000 was mistakenly given to the wrong customer at Kay Jewelers who left the store with the property. The female suspect was located on CCTV surveillance video and tracked back to a vehicle in the west parking structure. The suspect remains unidentified at this time.
  • Two male juveniles were arrested for shoplifting at Macy's. They were released to their respective parents and the matter sent to Family Court.
Monday, June 3
  • Two adult teenage females were arrested for fighting inside the St. Louis Galleria. One was later released on a municipal court summons while the other was held for municipal warrant application when additional charges were added to her arrest.
  • Officers responded to 7311 Hoover for several subjects breaking into cars on the parking lot. On their arrival, the suspects entered a stolen Dodge Caravan and struck a police vehicle when driving off the lot. The vehicle was pursued a short distance as it entered eastbound I-64 but the chase was called off. The Dodge Caravan was located later that afternoon in E. St. Louis and towed to Terry’s Towing where it was processed. The investigation is continuing.
  • A laptop computer was stolen from the victim’s vehicle parked on the parking lot at 7311 Hoover.
  • The victim’s wallet containing personal papers was stolen from his vehicle after it was broken into on the parking lot at 7311 Hoover.
