Man Invades Richmond Heights Home, Hits Woman With Beer Can, Police Say

The resident told police Turner was looking for another man, who wasn't home at the time.

A man is accused of forcing his way inside a Richmond Heights home Wednesday and hitting a woman with a can of beer.

Steven Turner Jr, 39, of the 300 block of Madison Avenue in Rock Hill, was charged Thursday with first-degree burglary, third-degree assault and misdemeanor stealing.

Richmond Heights Police said Turner forced his way inside a home in the 1200 block of Woodland Avenue when the woman answered her door. He refused to leave, despite the woman’s pleas to do so, police said.

Turner ran upstairs searching for another man, who was not present. He threw a can of beer at the woman, striking her, according to a police statement. Turner then started towards the woman aggressively, the statement said.

The woman grabbed a steak knife and stabbed Turner several times, making a few small puncture wounds, according to police. Turner then took the woman’s car keys and left. Police stopped him as he was pulling away from the home.
