Steve Birmingham, a news reporter and editor for over 20 years, has filed breaking news stories on crime, various law enforcement agencies, local governments and school districts throughout the metropolitan St. Louis area.

He has reported on the activities of the St. Louis field offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, The St. Louis Major Case Squad, the Illinois Major Case Squad, the St. Louis County Police Department and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He has also filed in-depth coverage of the activities of many local municipal police and fire departments.

Steve has many years in the auto racing industry, beginning as an editor of the now defunct MotorSport USA , a monthly motorsports newspaper covering national and local motorsports events. He later spent almost two decades as a Media Relations Specialist for a major local NASCAR-affiliated speedway and served as Chief Steward for that speedway's yearly $1 million NASCAR racing series.

A born and bred South St. Louis Countian, Steve and his wife reside in mid-St. Louis County near his two adult children. His interests outside news gathering include his family, honing his drumming skills, his much too infrequent participation in motorsports and boasting of his dominance in the annual family fishing tournament at Lake Tanneycomo in southwest Missouri.
