Forbes: Z Pizza Among Nation's Best New Chains

The popularity of artisan pizza is rising, according to their "Better Pizza" report.

Z Pizza, a chain specializing in organic pizza, pasta and salads, opened shop in Clayton in March. General manager Scott Newhouse told Patch that business in the first two weeks exceeded his expectations.  Have you already tried z pizza? They named the restaurant among '13 tasty new chains to try.' The chain will have an estimated 115 locations by the end of this year, according to the report. "Additive- and preservative-free, featuring 100 percent whole-wheat pizza dough, zpizza was early out of the gate in the organic/natural pizza niche, and is the biggest chain in the sector," Forbes writes.  Z …

New chains? Z Pizza has been around almost as long as Papa Johns. Anyway, I went there a few weeks ago & the turkey sandwich I got was pretty good but the slice of my friend's cheese pizza that I ate was just ok.   more ›

New Clayton Pizza Spot: Fresh Ingredients, Not So Much Provel

Zpizza, on the edge of the Moorlands neighborhood, will use two electric bikes for deliveries.

An owner of the soon to be opened Zpizza, in the previous Tip Top Cleaners spot at the intersection of Wydown Boulevard and Westwood Drive, was on location last week, and shared some details with Patch. Brent Miller is the owner, along his wife, Bethany. He said his pizza isn't the traditional St. Louis pizza. "I've been to a lot of the places here," he said. "It's a lot of provel cheese, that's big in St. Louis, we're different from that. Salads are fresh. It's a different concept." He said fresh produce will be brought in daily, and none of it will be in bags. Miller said he like's the Thai and Mexican pizzas. "When it's fresh it just tastes different. New Pizza Restaurant Announces Opening Date in Clayton

Gourmet pizza chain zpizza makes its first strides into the St. Louis area this April.

The new pizza joint in the former Tip Top Cleaners finally has an opening date. Zpizza brings its vegan and gluten-free selection to 7600 Wydown Blvd. with a grand opening on April 6, according to Sauce Magazine. The Clayton Board of Aldermen approved the restaurant's permit in December. Delivery drivers will be equipped with electric bikes. New Pizza Restaurant to Open in Former Dry Cleaners in Clayton

The restaurant's menu will include vegan and gluten-free options, as well as unique ingredients like Cremini mushrooms, zucchini, pine nuts and artichoke hearts.

A new pizza restaurant is expected to open in the building at 7600 Wydown Boulevard that formerly housed Tip Top Cleaners.  A permit for the restaurant, called zpizza, gained approval from the Clayton Board of Aldermen during a meeting on Tuesday night. Owners Brent Miller and Bethany Yoder have both lived nearby on Meramec Avenue in Clayton for about a year, Miller said during the meeting.  "We had a ton of choices of where to put [the restaurant], but we love the area," Miller said.  The restaurant's menu, which is available online, offers vegan and gluten-free options. The more unexpected pizza ingredients include three types of mushrooms, zucchini, pine nuts, roasted eggplant and serrano chilies.  Zpizza also will serve pasta, …
