Join: #TurkeyTweetup Thursday for The Salvation Army

Which St. Louis business can"Do the Most Good" for The Salvation Army? Stop by the Moonrise Hotel next Thursday to find out.

As Turkey Day approaches, St. Louis offices will compete against each other to see which office can bring in the most canned and boxed goods for The Salvation Army - St. Louis. The occasion? The annual Turkey Tweetup Office Challenge, to benefit Salvation Army food pantries. From 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Moonrise Hotel, offices from across the St. Louis area will gather to drop off their donations, network with other St. Louis professionals and enjoy a free turkey lunch – all while tweeting about it. Showing off your pink pride during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a favorite thing to do with survivors and supporters alike. Thousands of hats, shirts, and other pink breast cancer items are sold in October. Millions of tiny pink ribbons are worn to support the cure for breast cancer and hope for many women. Also, countless numbers of people show support of Breast Cancer Awareness by participating in fundraising events. Have you strapped on your pink running shoes for the Komen Race for the Cure? Sharpen Your Knives: Pumpkin Carving This Weekend

The 4th annual great pumpkin carve and glow is this weekend at the Moonrise Hotel.

Nothing says Halloween like carving pumpkins. Roll up your sleeves and spend an afternoon at Moonrise Hotel for the 4th Annual Great Pumpkin Carve & Glow on Saturday, Oct. 27. The free pumpkin carving event runs from 3-6:30 p.m. in the Moonrise Hotel courtyard at 6177 Delmar in The Loop. Pumpkins, basic carving tools and decorating materials will be provided. Enjoy the fall air while hands-deep in pumpkin, or drop your carved pumpkin off ahead of time at Moonrise Hotel. The pumpkin carving runs from 3-6 p.m. At 6 p.m., all pumpkins will be displayed for the official lighting and judging. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. Pop Up Lunch to Benefit No Kid Hungry Campaign

Wednesday is Food Day 2012. Eat out at Operation Food Search and help feed hungry children in the area.

In honor of Food Day 2012, Operation Food Search is hosting a pop up lunch between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at its distribution center at 6282 Olive in University City, prepared by Chef John Johnson from River City Casino and Lumière Place Casino and Hotels.  Brown bag to-go lunches are available while supplies last for a $10 donation to No Kid Hungry, an awareness and advocacy campaign to end childhood hunger.
