Clayton Schools: 'Leadership Transition' is Temporary at High School

The transition in leadership referenced in an email from Clayton High School's acting principal is simply an acknowledgment of the temporary changes implemented while Dr. Louise Losos is on a leave of absence, an official said Tuesday. A faculty email from Dr. Dan Gutchewsky, the school's acting principal, describes the need for a smooth transition while Losos is on leave, said Chris Tennill, chief communications officer for the School District of Clayton. "Clayton High School is a special place and the responsibility of the principal is to be a good steward of the vision of CHS," Gutchewsky stated in the email. Dr. Louise Losos Remains on Leave of Absence

The length of the Clayton High School principal's leave is still undetermined, a School District of Clayton official said Tuesday.

Additional details about a leave of absence being taken by Clayton High School (CHS) Principal Louise Losos were unavailable as of Tuesday. "There is currently no timeline for release of additional information regarding Dr. Losos," Chief Communications Officer Chris Tennill of the School District of Clayton stated in an email. "As we have previously stated, the length of her leave is undetermined. If and when we have additional information to share, we will pass it on. Losos began her leave April 9. Dr. Sharmon Wilkinson, the district's superintendent, made the announcement in a letter to the CHS community but did not identify the reason for the leave. Dr. Louise Losos on Leave of Absence from Clayton High School

Dr. Dan Gutchewsky will provide leadership services on behalf of the school's principal in the interim.

Dr. Louise Losos has taken a leave of absence from her role as principal of Clayton High School (CHS). The leave began Monday. "This is both a personal issue for Louise and a personnel matter for the district," stated Chris Tennill, chief communications officer for the School District of Clayton, in an email. "As this involves personnel, we are not able to provide any additional details at this time." Interim Superintendent Sharmon Wilkinson notified CHS parents and staff of the leave Friday in a letter. "We are uncertain as to the length of this leave," Wilkinson wrote.
