The Clayton High School History Department is inviting the St. Louis community to attend a discussion with a distinguished panel of local historians about the Emancipation Proclamation. The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today in the Clayton High School auditorium. In recognition of the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln’s issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation and as a celebration of its message of freedom, the discussion about the meaning and effect of the Emancipation Proclamation will be held on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
