Sexual-Orientation Protections Approved by Clayton Aldermen

The Clayton Board of Aldermen met Tuesday night at City Hall.

An ordinance prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and an agreement regarding an easement for Ameren were among the items discussed Tuesday by the Clayton Board of Aldermen. Mayor Slay 'Stunned' by Condition of Lambert Airport

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay said the airport's Terminal One sustained the most damage.

St. Louis travelers have a bit of good news in light of Friday storms: Lambert Airport should operate at 70 percent capacity by Sunday. Officials said in a news conference Saturday morning that Terminal One sustained the most damage, while Terminal Two had limited damage. St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay said that he was stunned by the condition the airport was in last night but that airport employees have worked around the clock to get the airport running again. Slay said the airport should go to 100 percent capacity by the middle of the week. St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley said no St. Louis County residents lost their lives. Hundreds Still Without Power in St. Louis After Storm

Meanwhile, other media reported that Big Bend Boulevard in Richmond Heights reopened to traffic early Tuesday.

Less than 10 percent of St. Louis residents living in the 63117 ZIP code—which includes Richmond Heights—were without power as of 7 a.m. Tuesday following a powerful weekend storm, Ameren Missouri reported on its Web site. That works out to fewer than 570 customers still without electricity in that part of the city. Meanwhile, KSDK reported that Big Bend Boulevard reopened Tuesday shortly after 5:30 a.m. The corridor between Wise Avenue and Clayton Road sustained the brunt of the damage in the city, as photos show. Richmond Heights police could not immediately be reached for comment on the reopening. The damage along Big Bend appears to have been caused by straight-line winds, the National Weather Service stated on its Web site. The …

Richmond Heights Officials Talk Storm Damage; Other St. Louis Communities Experience Problems

The storm came through St. Louis late Sunday night.

A Richmond Heights City Council member said he's thankful that people were safe during a powerful storm that rolled through St. Louis on Sunday night. We've "got to be thankful that nobody was injured," District 2 Councilman Jim Thomson said. He said he hadn't received feedback about the storm from his constituents as of early Monday afternoon. His neighborhood, located south of Highway 40, had downed trash cans and limbs but didn't appear to have received the brunt of the storm. The western portion of Richmond Heights, which borders Brentwood, appears to have escaped the worst of the storm with "just a few branches here and there," District 4 Councilwoman Connie Williams said.
