MRH Elementary School Families Walk to School

Trailnet hosted a family event Friday morning at Maplewood Richmond Heights Elementary School aimed at getting parents and students to consider walking to school. "The school really supports what we're doing here," said Cindy Cantrell, a Richmond Heights resident and Trailnet's school specialist. The organization hopes to get more people who live within a half-mile of suburban St. Louis schools interested in walking to class, she said. Four different groups of students, accompanied by adults, are walking to MRH Elementary School these days as part of the Safe Routes to School program.
