Baby Eats Heart Out for Valentine's Day Photo

Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet and so, apparently, is paper.

Themed photo shoots are becoming tradition in our St. Louis household. For Christmas, Julie put Micah in a white cloth diaper and into a green-and-red wagon my grandfather made for me when I was little. Props came as part of the package: Reindeer antlers for the baby and a stuffed animal for his entertainment. When my mom suggested that she do something similar for Valentine's Day, Julie knew just what do to. Micah wore a white onesie (and pants. You don't really think we'd let the need to engage in a photo shoot override our son's need for warmth in winter, do you?). Julie spread a white sheet on the floor and crafted a pink heart out of construction paper with the words "Kiss me" written on it in red marker. She covered her lips in red …

I fondly remember the original one on Demun. Had the cool Marantz (or was it Mcintosh?) stereo system on the steps leading downstairs to the Rathskeller. The basement Cyranos was the best place to go on a date. I believe it later briefly moved into the Shakey's Pizza on Big Bend, then many years later reopened in Webster...Nothing like splitting a Cleopatra on a date there!   more ›

I'd strongly advise on using a nannying agency such as Olive U Nanny. The agency is ran by owner, Laura David. There are no second or third hands involved. Laura personally goes out to each family to see what they're specifically looking for as far as the needs, qualifications, and the wants of the family. Following that, she interviews highly experienced nanny applicants to fill the position. …   more ›

Dog Divas: Clayton's Brighton Promotes Adoptions with Animal Protective Association

The Pics of the Litter campaign will promote pets available for adoption at the APA of Missouri in Brentwood.

Ten adoption-eligible dogs got pampered and photographed in style last week as part of a collaboration between Clayton's Brighton Agency and the Brentwood-based Animal Protective Association of Missouri. The goal of the campaign—titled Pics of the Litter—is to spotlight dogs who have been at the APA since as far back as November. "There's nothing wrong with these dogs," said Becky Krueger, APA's director of education and public relations. "They're happy, they're healthy, they're friendly." Dogs such as those who are older, have darker fur or are higher-energy sometimes aren't adopted as quickly as others, she said. While the APA's website includes photos of these prospective pets, high-quality images often aren't available because of …
