Readers Vote 2012: Who Serves the Best Toasted Ravioli?

This is a truly authentic St. Louis dish, but who serves the best in the St. Louis metropolitan area? Vote now!

Nothing is as unique to St. Louis cuisine as its toasted ravioli. A New York Times article from the '80s credits a restaurant on The Hill, St. Louis’ historic Italian neighborhood, with the invention of this unique dish, which, the article says, happened by accident when ravioli was accidentally dropped into a frier. Today, nearly every bar and Americana-style restaurant in St. Louis serves toasted ravioli accompanied by hearty marinara sauce. There is too much toasted ravioli served out there for us at Patch to sample it all — although we’d love to try. So we are asking you, our readers, to help us find the place that has the hands-down best toasted ravioli in the St. Louis metropolitan area.  Just vote in our poll below this story.  The …

Readers Vote 2012: What’s Your Favorite Beer Garden?

St. Louis is a beer town, but we need our readers to tell us where to find the best beer garden in the area. Vote now for our nominees!

The history of beer in St. Louis can be traced back to the 1800s, when the famous Lemp family started the first local brewery, according to Explore St. Louis. Early German and Irish settlers helped build a city that centers around its beer. From Anheuser Busch in Soulard to Schlafy Bottleworks in Maplewood, St. Louis has dozens of breweries and microbreweries constantly producing different beer creations for us, lucky over-21 St. Louisans, to try. Beer gardens offer customers an opportunity to experience a variety of flavors, textures and alcohol contents of different beers. Just vote in our poll below for your favorite pulled pork vendor in St. Louis.  The voting period will take place from today until Aug. 17 at midnight. Winners will be announced on Aug. 24.

Breakfast is not complete without this staple of the American breakfast.Vote now for who serves it better in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.

OK, we all know the best biscuits and gravy are the ones your grandma made. At Patch, however, we want you, our readers, to help us find the best biscuits and gravy in town. A simple dish, biscuits smothered in gravy can be a sensitive topic to some St. Louisans. A gravy that’s too runny or a biscuit that’s too dry can make us madder than a Pujols transfer or Becky’s carpet closing. So now we turn to you, our beloved lover of biscuits and gravy, to tell us what place in the St. Louis metro area serves it best.   Vote in our poll below for your favorite among the nominees previously gathered.  The voting period will take place from today until Aug. 17 at midnight.
