Katie’s Pizzeria Announces 2nd Location

The owner of a popular Clayton pizzeria ran a successful Kickstarter to help her open a second restaurant.

Katie’s Pizzeria, which ran a succesful Kickstarter campaign to raise $40,000 for a second restaurant in Rock Hill, announced the location Thursday evening. Katie's Pizza and Pasta will be at 9568 Manchester Road, the Kickstarter supporters were told in an email. Work on the space on Friday. Katie's Pizzeria has been in the news a few times lately, including on March 21 when Patch first reported about a customer reporting she found a dead mouse in a salad. The story later gained the attention of the Riverfront Times and KMOV. That was just a week after the Kickstarter goal was reached and ultimately surpassed. Z Pizza to Open in Clayton on Wednesday

Sunday's big snow set the opening back a day.

Z Pizza employees were busy last week getting ready for their opening this week. The pizza shop in the Clayton Moorlands neighborhood is the first of the brand to open in St. Louis. General manager Scott Newhouse said he likes that all the ingredients are fresh. "Working in the pizza business like I did, a lot of the pizza companies like Pizza Hut and Dominos use pre-sliced ingredients," Newhouse said. "This stuff is sliced fresh every morning and it’s all locally out-sourced." Newhouse worked as a general manager for Imo's for 10 years and Jimmy John's for 12. "I know this delivery area, the crowd; this product in this area will do very well," he said. "I went to California for training and I was impressed." The shop planned a Tuesday …
