Vote: Who's the 2012 Richmond Heights Person of the Year? You Decide

We received nominations for two people for the 2012 Richmond Heights Person of the Year on Patch. Now, you get to decide who is recognized with your vote.

The nominations are in. The readers of Patch submitted nominations for two people for the 2012 Richmond Heights Person of the Year on Patch. Now, it's time for you to decide who wins by casting your vote in the poll below. We'll accept your votes until 7 p.m. on Dec. 26. Then we'll name the Person of the Year. He or she will be recognized with a feature story on Patch at a later date. Be sure to tell your friends to support the person you believe should be named Person of the Year! Any questions? Youngsters Blare Horns on Big Vehicles at Richmond Heights-Sponsored Event

It happened Saturday.

Horns blared, sirens wailed and engines roared as children and adults got an up-close view of trucks, boats, fire engines, police cars and other vehicles during Tons of Transportation at Deer Creek Park on Saturday. The cities of Richmond Heights and Maplewood hosted the event. Now in its ninth year, the free event is billed as a "hands on adventure," allowing kids the opportunity to climb on and explore equipment including a front loader and a fire engine. David and Jennifer Johnson said their kids have been counting down the days to the event. "We marked our calendars as soon as it came out," Jennifer Johnson said. "(The kids) love it so much. They climb in and out of the trucks and touch all the buttons they aren't supposed to touch." …
