We've stirred the pot a little with a few photos from previous openers from Associate Regional Editor Brian Feldt. We hope you'll add a few more to the gallery. Just click the button that says "upload photos and videos" and follow the instructions. We'll send a Patch T-shirt and ballcap to three of you at random from among those who share a photo before the first pitch of …

The site, which serves as both a newsstand and a convenience store, has been located on Central Avenue for decades.
The new manager of World News in Clayton said this week that several changes are underway at the location. "We're here, and we're staying, and we're updating," Pat Fisher said. She has headed up the store, 4 S. Central Ave. in downtown, since Jan. 1. She had been working in Maryland Heights at its World News store, which closed in December, according to a Maryland Heights Patch report. The Clayton store is under the new ownership of Cowley Distributing, Fisher said. One of the owners, Jerry Cowley, could not immediately be reached for comment. No stranger to the limelight, the Globe has received several awards in the past decade.
Patch isn't the only hyperlocal news source getting the scoop on important news stories in Clayton. Clayton High School's student newspaper, the Globe, received an award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for journalistic excellence in the 2009-10 school year. Last year's crew wowed the judges and earned the school paper the status of finalist for the Crown Award—a prize with which CHS journalism adviser Nancy Freeman is somewhat familiar. "In the last 10 years, we've gotten about four," Freeman said. "I think it speaks to the kind of publication we can do." The jury is still out on whether the Globe will receive the designation of Gold or Silver Crown. "We've always been a Silver Crown finalist, but we won't know that until …

Drivers in downtown Clayton may make U-turns during some overnight hours following a unanimous vote by the city's Board of Aldermen on Jan. 11. The action is now permissible from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., on Saturdays and Sundays, and on legal holidays in that part of the city. U-turns are still prohibited at intersections where traffic signals are in place, and on Brentwood Boulevard and Hanley Road. A copy of the ordinance is attached to this article. Ward II Alderman Cynthia Garnholz told the aldermen that the issue came up after receiving a recent e-mail from a friend, a former Clayton resident, who stated that he had been pulled over for making a U-turn downtown. He asked whether the aldermen could review the city's policy. "He responded …
