A captain with the Richmond Heights Fire Department is recovering from a shoulder injury he sustained while fighting a massive fire Thursday night at a Maplewood business. Greg Steffen was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment after he jumped out of a first-floor window when the building's floor collapsed into the basement, Chief Kerry Hogan said. He hit an air-conditioning unit that had fallen out of the window. Steffen is doing all right apart from the pain caused by the injury, Hogan said. It's possible the fall hurt his rotator cuff. He will undergo an MRI and other procedures to determine the extent of the damage. Chief Terry Merrell of the Maplewood Fire Department described it as a soft-tissue injury in an interview with …

David Faulkner, a former employee of the School District of Clayton, has been named to lead Brentwood schools, Maplewood-Brentwood Patch reported Monday.
