Residents of Richmond Heights and parents with students at Maplewood Richmond Heights schools expressed safety concerns about the proposed relocation by the gas station and convenience store, Maplewood-Brentwood Patch reported.
Residents of Richmond Heights and Maplewood largely spoke out against the planned relocation of QuikTrip during a meeting Tuesday, Maplewood-Brentwood Patch reported. The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District shared the following news release Tuesday. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has released its Annual Performance Report (APR), and the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District (MRH) received high honors once again by receiving the top score of 14. This is the third year in a row MRH has achieved the highest available score of 14. The Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) test scores and other performance measures are used to develop each school district's APR. The principal of a Richmond Heights-area school recently named a model institution will speak at a national conference this week. Safety concerns about the move have been voiced by representatives of the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District, Maplewood-Brentwood Patch reported this week.
QuikTrip is moving forward with plans to relocate to the northwest corner of Big Bend Boulevard and Manchester Road despite safety concerns from the nearby Maplewood Richmond Heights School District. That's according to a Maplewood-Brentwood Patch report published this week. The gas station and convenience store are currently situated farther south on Big Bend. Quoting from the Maplewood-Brentwood Patch article: "QuikTrip has signed a long-term lease with the owner of the northwest corner of Manchester Road and Big Bend Boulevard. Four Richmond Heights siblings are in foster care after police said they found evidence of abuse. No arrests have been made, though the possibility of criminal charges is under investigation, Capt. Doug Schaeffler of the Richmond Heights Police Department said Tuesday. The children were moved to foster care April 26. It happened after a person with the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District noticed bruising on one of the children and contacted the Missouri Children's Division Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline Unit. Social workers investigated the case and contacted police, who interviewed their mother and found evidence of abuse.
