Council Approves Preliminary Funding Agreement for Cheshire Lodge Project

All 107 rooms in the Richmond Heights hotel are expected to receive $101,000 each in upgrades.

A preliminary funding agreement aimed at paving the way for upgrades to a hotel expected to generate $98 million in revenue over a 20-year period received the approval of Richmond Heights City Council on Jan. 4. "It is a Main and Main project and will help the whole city," Mayor James Beck said before the council's vote. Cheshire Lodge, 6300 Clayton Rd., is expected to open to guests in August and will feature 107 rooms that are to include canopied beds, showers, framed pictures and 37-inch high-definition TVs, said Craig Cobler, senior vice president of development for Lodging Hospitality Management, the company overseeing the project.
