Panera Bread recently debuted a series of high protein, slow carb options on a hidden menu.
St. Louisans resolving to eat healthier in 2013 can enjoy a handful of new, high-protein, slow-carbohydrate meals on St. Louis Bread Co.'s hidden menu, writes Riverfront Times' Gut Check blog. The menu items, which were tested in a handful of Panera's New York City locations, debuted nationally earlier this month, according to Gut Check. Two local businesses are selling Missouri-made sweets that have garnered a lot of positive attention, the Riverfront Times' Gut Check blog reported.
Both The Wine & Cheese Place and Straub's in Clayton are selling acclaimed Missouri-made chocolates, the Riverfront Times' Gut Check blog reported. Quoting from the Gut Check post: "Springfield-based Askinosie Chocolate was recently awarded its fifth silver Sofi Award in the category of "Outstanding Chocolate" by the National Association of Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) for its new dark milk chocolate and black licorice bar."
