Now that the Clayton Board of Aldermen has approved the formation of a domestic partnership registry, residents may be asking how they can sign up. A domestic partnership registry won approval Tuesday night during a meeting of the Clayton Board of Aldermen, KSDK Channel 5 reported. Quoting from the KSDK article: "Clayton is the third municipality in St. Louis County to create a registry, and creates a system where same-sex couples as well as opposite-sex couples can make their relationship a matter of record." On Nov. 22, Clayton adopted nondiscrimination amendments protecting sexual orientation and gender identity. Two other cities in St. Louis County has passed similar measures. City Manager Craig Owens also said officials are working on plans for a domestic partnership registry. The following is a brief timeline of adopted legislation on sexual orientation and gender identity in the county.
