The accident happened around 6 a.m. Friday near the Dorchester.
Police have identified the woman struck and killed early Friday morning on Skinker Blvd. as Charlotte Cunningham, 61. KMOV reports that Cunningham was crossing the street in the 600 block of Skinker Boulevard around 6 a.m. when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle. See our previous story: Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Skinker Blvd. The driver of the car that struck the woman stopped and was questioned by police, Fox 2 reported. Accident reconstruction crews also investigated the accident. Dorchester resident Sara Mendelow told KMOV that with high pedestrian traffic and speeding cars, the street can be dangerous at certain times.

A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday morning on Skinker Boulevard near Forest Park, Fox 2 News reports. Police tell Fox 2 that the woman was in her 50s and was on her way to work around 6 a.m. this morning. Her belongings could be seen in the street. The driver of the car that struck the woman stopped and is being questioned by police. Accident reconstruction crews also are investigating. Skinker is closed in both directions. The street is expected to remain closed until Friday afternoon.

The post-doctoral fellow was killed in a car accident this weekend.
Flags at Washington University were lowered to half staff Monday to honor Melanie Michailidis, a post-doctoral fellow killed in a car accident Friday night in Ladue. University officials have no information yet on a memoral service for the Islamic art expert. Michailidis was the Korff Post-doctoral Fellow in Islamic Art in the Department of Art History and Archaeology, in Arts & Sciences, at Washington University. She held a BA from the University of Tennessee, and an MA from the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London, where she began her studies in Islamic Art. In 2007, she earned a PhD in Islamic art and architecture from MIT, where she specialized in monumental funerary architecture in Iran and Central Asia …

One person is trapped after the accident near the intersection of Clayton Road and Skinker Blvd.
Fox 2 News is reporting that a person is trapped in their car following an accident near the intersection of Skinker and Clayton in St. Louis. According to Fox 2, emergency crews are at the scene and are working on removing the crash victim from the vehicle. The crash site is near the giant Amaco sign by Forest Park and is snarling traffic for those heading into Clayton and University City. I took care of Ms cunningham every Saturday @ the bank ...Always so pleasant and very nice... She enjoyed the movies very much and very excited when having lunch with a friend ...And she also like frozen chocolate eclairs ...
