70-Year-Old Clayton Man Shakes, Pushes Wife, Threatens With Knife, Police Say

The Clayton man was charged with assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

A man shook his wife, pushed her into a cabinet and threatened her with a knife Nov. 10 in Clayton, police said. Dennis Matteuzzi, 70, of the first block of Carrswold Drive in Clayton, was charged Nov. 12 with third-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Clayton Police said Matteuzzi grabbed his wife, shook her and pushed her into a cabinet and she fell onto the floor. He then grabbed a knife and threatened his wife, holding the knife in the air, according a police report. Matteuzzi posted 10 percent of the $20,000 bond and was released from jail Wednesday. Police: Man with Schizophrenia Suspected of Assault on Nurse

The nurse had a broken nose, the Richmond Heights Police Department reported.

A man with schizophrenia is wanted on suspicion of second-degree assault after an incident in the 1000 block of Bellevue Avenue, the Richmond Heights Police Department reported. It happened Sept. 13 at the SSM St. Mary's Health Center campus.  Police said the man, a patient, broke his nurse's nose during a sudden, unprovoked attack. The man was held and sedated. An arrest was expected at a later date because of the nurse's condition after the assault, police said. More recent crime updates on Patch:

Driver Charged With Assault-DWI in Clayton Collision

Another driver sustained injuries and went to the hospital in an ambulance, police said.

A Town and Country man faces a criminal charge after police said he crashed his vehicle* into a car in Clayton on Friday. Another driver sustained injuries, and officials with the Clayton Police Department said they suspect the driver was drunk at the time. Neil Kulkarni, 37, of the 13500 block of Weston Park Drive in Town and Country, was charged Friday with one count of second-degree assault. Bottle Assault at Clayton Cafe Results in Charges

A Ladue man is suspected of throwing the object after an argument at Cafe Napoli, a police report states.

A Ladue man has been charged with assault and armed criminal action after police say he threw a bottle and hit another man in the head. Clayton Park, 25, of the 8800 block of Old Warson Road, was arguing with another man at the bar at about 12:10 a.m. Saturday in Café Napoli, 7754 Forsyth Blvd. in Clayton, according to a Clayton Police Department report. He then is suspected of having thrown a bottle that hit the victim in the head, causing a "brain bleed." Park posted a $10,000 cash bond.
