Is This the Luckiest Dog in Clayton?

Charlie's owner owns a candy shop in the DeMun neighborhood, and is served ice cream when he stops by.

Charlie might be the luckiest dog in Clayton. 

The pit bull-terrier mix belongs to Cathie Laufketter, who owns Oh Lolli Lolli Itsy Bitsy Candy Shoppe. Charlie is treated to a cup of ice cream whenever he stops by with a family member.

Traci Clapper, who works at the shop, said during the summer they put out a bowl of water for dogs that walk by with families.

"The dogs chill out there when customers are in here," Clapper said.

But there's a special treat when it becomes really hot outside.

"We give them snow cones," she said. "We don't have dog flavors, but we'll give them the ice. Some people give their dogs ice cream."
