Richmond Heights' 'Sir Soccer' Bill McDermott Previews Chelsea vs. Manchester City

In this Fox 2 news video, the Richmond Heights resident calls both organizations "pedigree teams" out to give the crowd a good rival match on Thursday at Busch Stadium.

European football will take place in St. Louis this week.

The Premiere League, an English professional league for men's football (soccer) clubs, is bringing two of its power teams Chelsea and Manchester City to play Thursday night at Busch Stadium.

Richmond Heights resident Bill McDermott, aka Sir Soccer, is St. Louis’ own soccer expert and spoke with Fox 2 News Sports Director Martin Kilcoyne on Sunday about his predictions.

McDermott said these are two of the best teams in the world, and Chelsea will win the game. He also said it should be a good rival game.

"They are bitter rivals, but this will be friendly," he said.

McDermott credits St. Louis' love of sports as one reason the teams chose the city as a U.S. stop. He said he foresees more soccer games due to how quickly this exhibition game sold out.
