Clayton, MRH District Football Begins This Week

In the new Missouri system, every team has a shot at a state title.

High school football coaches were busy cramming about prospective opponents over the weekend. They left the field Friday and Saturday afternoon, still not quite sure who they'd be playing this week in the new state football playoff system that now includes the "district system" used in other sports, with seeding thanks to a point differential that made every score count.

Saturday evening, that schedule was released. Here's how it all will start shaking out for our schools.

  • Clayton High School (6-3), in Class 4, District 5, plays Jennings (2-6) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26.
  • Maplewood Richmond Heights (7-2), in Class 2, District 2, plays Cleveland NJROTC (1-7) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26.

Both games are at home for our teams.
