The Fontbonne/KMOX Book Club Talks Baseball with Tony La Russa

ST. LOUIS - The Fontbonne University/KMOX Book Club welcomes Tony La Russa, the recently retired manager of the St. Louis Cardinals and author of “One Last Strike: Fifty Years in Baseball, Ten and a Half Games Back, and One Final Championship Season.” KMOX’s Charlie Brennan will interview La Russa live at the event, which will take place Friday, Sept. 28, 9 – 11 a.m. at Stages St. Louis, 111 South Geyer Rd.

In “One Last Strike,” La Russa takes readers behind-the-scenes of the Cardinals’ unlikely 2011 World Series victory. La Russa, the third winningest manager in baseball history, also recounts stories from his 50-year career and explains his unusual approach to managing as well as his decision to retire at the top of his game.
