Wickersham to Resign as MRH Communications Director

Tom Wickersham stated Monday that he plans to leave in mid-September after serving the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District for two and a half years.

Richmond Heights resident Tom Wickersham will resign from his position as communications director for the effective in mid-September. The announcement happened Monday in an email newsletter.

"This has been a painfully difficult decision, as MRH is a tremendous place to be," Wickersham stated. "I have been blessed to work with so many inspiring people and for such a wonderful community. It is time, however, for me to move on, as I embark on the first steps of a lifelong dream to start a business."

Wickersham has worked for the district for two and a half years. He stated that his accomplishments during that time included helping with the passage of Propositions Y and S, which funded technology programs, construction and other projects; the development of an internship program; and renewed life for district-wide special events.

He is particularly proud of the and two Award of Merit distinctions he earned from the National School Public Relations Association, the newsletter states.

"I wish to thank all of you for the opportunity to work with and for you," Wickersham stated. "It has been such an inspiration to be part of something so special, and during my time here I have grown both personally and professionally."

Job postings for the position were expected to be posted as early as Wednesday, the newsletter states.
