Phyllis Schlafly, a longtime conservative political activist whose Eagle Forum Education Center is based in Clayton, cent tax levy on the ballot April 3 in Ladue.

Schlafly, a Ladue resident, stands behind the facts and figures of the Take Back Ladue Commitee, urging fellow residents to vote down the tax levy. So far, the hot-button issue has yielded more than 110 comments on Patch.

Schlafly penned her message using the letterhead of the Eagle Forum. Some might interpret that as using the weight of her national organization to influence a local election. Others might just say she is expressing her own points of view.
