Clayton Transfer Students' MAP Scores Reveal Successes

African-American transfer students studying in school districts such as Clayton generally performed better on the 2011 Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) test than students at some other St. Louis County schools, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

Quoting from the Post-Dispatch article:

"Magnet schools and the voluntary desegregation program were created in the 1980s to address segregation in St. Louis Public Schools and to settle a federal lawsuit. Through the transfer program, black children from the city may apply to attend predominately white school districts in St. Louis County."
