Clayton Students Smash Car with Bats, Axes--in Tobacco-Free Event
Evolvement sponsored the event to spread the word about stopping smoking in schools.
Clayton High School students relieved some final exam stress by bashing a car during the Evolvement Car Smash Friday.
Students took whacks at the car with sledgehammers, baseball bats and axes to demolish the car after completing a short survey or a message card to give feedback about the campaign.
Evolvement is a youth-led group that promotes a tobacco-free lifestyle. The group gave students some facts about smoking, including:

- 80 percent of all smokers have their first cigarette before age 18

Evolvement members also told students about the 24/7 Campaign, which encourages students to be 100 percent tobacco-free.
