Cailer Keaton Charges 143 Yards in Clayton Football Game

Meanwhile, Charlie Harned remains the top scorer for the Clayton Greyhounds boys soccer team.

Greyhounds football team falls to MICDS

The Clayton Greyhounds football team saw its 2011 season come to an end with a 35-7 loss against undefeated and No. 1-ranked MICDS Rams on Friday night.

The Rams have been one of the best teams in the state all year.

But sophomore Cailer Keaton had a big night for Clayton, rushing for 143 yards and scoring the Greyhounds’ only touchdown.

Clayton goes 0-2 in volleyball district playoffs

Clayton lost in the first round of volleyball district playoffs. It fell to MICDS, two games to none, and finished its year with a 9-16 record.

Boys soccer districts kick off this week

The Clayton boys soccer team had a better week, winning both of its games (4-0 over Whitfield and 1-0 over Hazelwood Central) to move to 15-8 on the season.

This week, the Greyhounds will open up district play with a matchup against Westminster Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Gay Field.

The Wildcats are 11-12 this season but have been on a hot streak lately. They have won four straight and five of their last six games. Their only recent loss came Oct. 15 against No. 1-ranked Priory, which is undefeated.

Charlie Harned remains the Greyhounds’ top scorer this season. He has 17 goals and 17 assists. Teammate Gabe Jacus is second with 10 goals and eight assists.
