Ruth Berg thanked those who work for "the good health" of on Tuesday and reflected on her 60 years in the city during a .

Mayor Linda Goldstein read a proclamation declaring Tuesday as Ruth Berg Day. A number of people attended the first part of the meeting to support Berg. She spoke from the seat of Ward III Alderman Mark Winings, who couldn't be in attendance.

Berg, 98, moved to Clayton in January 1952, Goldstein's proclamation states. She has children and grandchildren who attended . Berg's favorite grocer is , and her favorite restaurant is .

"We are proud to honor her 60 years as a citizen of Clayton," said Goldstein, reading from the proclamation.
