Valet Parking, Drive-Thru Regulations Before Clayton Council

A business owner wants valet parking during weekend days.

The Clayton City Council will review regulations for valet parking in the city at its meeting Tuesday. A local business has requested the ability to use valet parking during the during the day on weekends.

Current Clayton regulations don't permit valet parking on weekend days. 

The Council meets at 7 p.m. at Clayton City Hall.

Other items on the agenda include: 

  • Resolution – A Conditional Use Permit to allow the use of a second story addition (carriage house) located at 7424 Buckingham Drive.
  • Ordinance – An amendment to exempt theaters located in the Central Business District (CBD) that are less than 10,000 square feet from providing off-street parking and also exempting retailers located in the (CBD) that are 3,000 square feet or less from providing off-street parking. (Maryland Avenue retail shops are excluded from this exemption and would have to provide off-street parking as currently required.) 
  • Ordinance - An amendment to allow the placement of up to nine square feet of temporary window signs in windows of businesses currently allowed temporary signage.
  • Ordinance – The Maryland Gateway Overlay Zoning district will be a new article incorporated into Chapter 410 of the Zoning Ordinance which pertains to Overlay and Urban Design Districts. 
  • An amendment to add the new Maryland Gateway Overlay district to the list of overlay zoning districts identified in Chapter 410. 
  • Resolution – Design guidelines and site design requirements applicable to drive-through facilities for financial institutions. 2
  • A liquor license for Royal Thai Cuisine, LLC located at 7816 Forsyth Boulevard.
