Susan Carlson, Stacey Newman Set for Special Election Sept. 24, 2012

A judge ordered the election because of voting irregularities, the St. Louis Beacon reported.

Rep. Stacey Newman (D-Richmond Heights) and Rep. Susan Carlson (D-University City) are expected to face each other Sept. 24 in what would be their second election race for the 87th District in two months, the St. Louis Beacon reported. That's because of voting irregularities identified after the August primary.

Quoting from the Beacon article:

"The mistakes occurred during the Aug. 7 primary at the polling place in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Brentwood, where poll workers accidentally handed voters ballots with the 83rd District race between James Trout and Gina Mitten."
