Stacey Newman Talks Women's Rights, 'Don't Say Gay' Bill

The Missouri state representative from Richmond Heights is facing an August primary battle, The Vital Voice reported.

Rep. Stacey Newman (D-Richmond Heights) discusses how she's fought in support of women's rights and against the 'Don't Say Gay' bill in a recent interview with The Vital Voice.

Newman is facing an Aug. 7 primary battle against fellow Rep. Susan Carlson (D-University City) in the 87th District.

Quoting Newman, as described in the Vital Voice article:

"Equality means a great deal to me, and the intersection of what’s going on with women’s rights and equality rights is basically on the same line and it crosses over. Women care about equality, equality includes women too, it goes both ways."
