St. Louis County to Consider Funeral Protest Ban

The ban would be similar to the those passed by some St. Louis area cities, including Clayton.

St. Louis County Councilman Steve Stenger, D-Affton, wants to pass legislation that would restrict funeral protests, according to an article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The legislation would mirror Creve Coeur's city ordinance which was passed earlier this month by the city council, the newspaper reports. Creve Coeur, Clayton and Manchester recently have passed ordinances that prohibit protests within 300 feet of a funeral one hour before and one hour after services.

The Post-Dispatch article reports that Stenger plans to introduce the funeral protest ban legislation at Tuesday's St. Louis County Council meeting. Read the full article on the Post-Dispatch's website.
