RubinBrown Celebrates 60 Years in Clayton

The St. Louis-based accounting and business consulting firm formed in 1952.

-based celebrated its 60th anniversary Thursday with a proclamation from Mayor Linda Goldstein, the company announced in a news release. Representatives also unveiled new signs at the company's headquarters, 1 N. Brentwood Blvd.

The accounting and business consulting firm began in 1952 in St. Louis and has expanded to include more than 400 employees with additional offices in Kansas City and Denver.

"RubinBrown is one of Clayton's largest and fastest-growing businesses," Goldstein stated in the release. "We are very pleased that they are working and prospering in our community."

The company is the largest of its kind in St. Louis. In August, it received a ranking of No. 46 by Inside Public Accounting.

"We wouldn't be where we are today without the support of our clients and the exceptional work of our partners, managers and other team members," stated Jim Castellano, RubinBrown's chairman. "Mahlon Rubin, Harvey Brown, and Sidney Gornstein set very high values for all of us.  We feel privileged to follow in their footsteps."

The company's strategic vision and its recruitment and training programs also have helped the company attract and retain talent, managing partner John Herber stated.

"Our accounting professionals hold key national positions within the accounting profession and have not only helped our firm broaden its services, but also have contributed to the development of accounting practices and standards within various industry segments on a national level," Herber stated. "It's a proud legacy that we are privileged to continue today."
