Richmond Heights Names New Assistant City Manager

David Gipson, planning manager for St. Charles, will join the city Jan. 17.

David Gipson will become assistant city manager for effective Jan. 17, the city announced Friday in a news release. The St. Charles planning manager succeeds , who left earlier this year for Brentwood's top leadership post.

"David's expressed personal and professional commitments to public service are an excellent match for us," City Manager Amy Hamilton stated Friday in a news release. "His skills and abilities will be put to good use right away."

His prospective appointment , at a Dec. 19 meeting of the St. Charles Planning and Zoning Commission. His last day with that city is expected to be Jan. 6.

Gipson will help prepare Richmond Heights' yearly budget and grant proposals; oversee coordination of public works operations and staff in human resources, information technology and public relations; oversee performance-measurement processes; and coordinate various special projects.

He holds a master's in public policy administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a bachelor's in planning from Missouri State University.

The assistant city manager will report to Hamilton.
