Richmond Heights Library Policy Adopted in Brentwood
The board embraced the five-minute speaking rule for meeting visitors after a gathering earlier this year "kind of got crazy," its president said.
A policy limiting library board visitors to five minutes of speaking time has been adopted by the Brentwood Library Board, Maplewood-Brentwood Patch reported. It's a rule borrowed from the Richmond Heights Memorial Library Board of Trustees.
The decision followed an emergency meeting about a voter-approved tax rate during which "things kind of got crazy," Board President Sheila Lenkman said.
Quoting from the Patch article:
"Lenkman said they liked the Richmond Heights policy because 'it is simple, easy to read and understand, and if you post it people might actually read it.'"
