Inspection date: Feb. 27
Grade: A (97)
Comments: Surfaces of the ice machine were worn; the inspector recommended the machine for repair. Some floors, walls and ceilings that were worn were also recommended for repair. Various light shields were observed to be broken or missing; these were recommended for replacement.

Inspection date: Feb. 26
Grade: A (90)
The following comments were included in the report:

  • Hepatitis A immunization information was not up-to-date or clearly maintained; the manager updated the information during the inspection, according to the report.
  • The person in charge during the inspection did not have up-to-date food protection certification. The inspector recommended renewal within 10 days.
  • The inspector noted that a back door couldn’t properly protect against insect or rodent entry. The door was recommended for repair or replacement within 10 days.
  • Bacon and cheese were left in pans on the counter without a discard time.
  • The restaurant did not have a consumer advisory for raw or undercooked steak. The item was corrected during the inspection.
  • Damaged ceiling tiles were recommended for repair before the next routine inspection.
  • Food items in a downstairs freezer were not being stored at proper cooking temperatures. The inspector recommended the storage be corrected within 10 days.
  • A follow-up inspection was scheduled for March 12.

Comments: Hepatitis A information for employees was not up-to-date, according to the inspection report. A follow-up inspection was scheduled for March 5.

Inspection date: Feb. 27
Grade: A (95)
Comments: Hepatitis A information for employees was not up-to-date, according to the inspection report. The restaurant was asked to complete update the information within 10 days.

Barcelona Tapas Restaurant, 34 N. Central Ave.
Inspection date: Jan. 25
Grade: A (99)
Comments: Debris buildup on vents was noted in a beverage area near the dish room. The inspector recommend that vents be cleaned.
