BLOG RECAP: Wydown Curb-Cuts and Liquor Licenses on Aldermen's Agenda

A look at the Tuesday meeting of the Clayton Board of Aldermen.

The Clayton Board of Aldermen met Tuesday to discuss reallocating funds to pay for new curb-cuts along Wydown Boulevard and to review two requests for liquor licenses. What follows is a look at what happened, in reverse chronological order.

7:13 P.M.: Alderman Judy Goodman has acknowledged Patty DeForrest for being named president of the Missouri Parks Association. Alderman Cynthia Garnholz has recognized two city staff—Deputy City Manager Lenore Toser-Aldaz and finance director Don Yucuis—for their work on behalf of the city in light of their upcoming departures. The meeting has adjourned.

7:09 P.M.: Mayor Judy Goodman says this is likely the shortest meeting she's experienced in the 12 years she has been in office.

7:08 P.M.: The aldermen have approved the liquor license for The Patio Cafe.

7:07 P.M.: A liquor license has been requested for another new restaurant, The Patio Cafe, 7711 Bonhomme Ave. The aldermen are considering the request.

7:05 P.M.: An upcoming Clayton restaurant, Mad Tomato, 8000 Carondelet Ave., has requested a liquor license. A business representative said the restaurant is expected to open April 18. The aldermen have approved the license.

7:04 P.M.: The city has received this kind of funding for more than 10 years, public works director Michael Pratt said. The aldermen have approved the resolution.

7 P.M.: The aldermen are considering a resolution to shift about $8,300 in Community Development Block Grant funds to sidewalk work along Wydown Boulevard. These are additional funds left over from 2010, City Manager Craig Owens said. Additional funds are expected to be available in the coming year.

6:59 P.M.: The meeting is coming to order.
