Irrigation System Planned Along Clayton Road Near SSM St. Mary's

The St. Louis County Council on Tuesday moved forward with plans to form an agreement with the City of Richmond Heights for that and other work in the area.

Trees, tree grates and an irrigation system are planned along a southern portion of Clayton Road in , a county document states. The work will happen in front of .

and will include a new Clayton Road entrance. A rendering of the future exterior look is available on the hospital's website.

At its meeting in on Tuesday, the St. Louis County Council asked the county to prepare legislation that would form an agreement on the work between the county and the City of Richmond Heights. The project would happen between Bellevue and Yale avenues in county right-of-way that lies in the city.

A letter from Sheryl Hodges, director of the county's highways and traffic department, to County Executive Charlie Dooley states that the city would add and maintain the trees, grates and irrigation system while the county would issue permits needed to do the work.

County Councilman Pat Dolan (D-Richmond Heights) made the motion to move forward with the project.
