Hadley Township Discussion Planned Tuesday at The Heights

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

A community discussion of is scheduled Tuesday in Richmond Heights.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at . It will be followed by a regular City Council meeting at 7:30.

Hadley Township's prime location near the Highway 40-Hanley Road interchange has made it a focus of developers, according to a Hadley Township Neighborhood Assessment published in 2003. It is bordered by Dale Avenue to the north and West Bruno Avenue to the south; and by Hanley Road to the west and Laclede Station Road to the east.

Several developers have expressed interest in buying out property owners in the past, only to fail to follow through in the end. Most recently, the city's relationship with developer United Plaza expired Nov. 30 after the company failed to meet financial obligations in connection with a proposed multi-use development.

Tuesday's discussion had been planned for January but had to be rescheduled because all rooms at The Heights were booked.

City officials are not planning any formal presentation about Hadley Township in conjunction with the special community meeting, public relations coordinator Irene Johnson said Monday.
