Forsyth Boulevard Reopens Thursday Between Big Bend, Skinker

The major Clayton underpass project has been underway since May along a major corridor at Washington University in St. Louis.

Forsyth Boulevard will reopen at 5 p.m. Thursday in between Big Bend and  Skinker boulevards after nearly three months of construction, the city announced in an email alert. The section of road is located along a major corridor of Washington University in St. Louis.

Workers began overhauling the pedestrian underpass beneath Forsyth in late May. Since that time, signs have directed drivers to take other routes because that section of road has been closed.

Nearby landmarks to the newly opening section of road include Francis Field and Gregg House at Washington University.

Finishing touches will be made next week, the city's website states. Landscaping will be installed in the future in an effort to keep plants alive.
