Eco-Friendly Living Classes Planned in Clayton

University of Missouri Extension of St. Louis County will offer the courses for families beginning Oct. 20.

Eco-friendly living will be the subject of a four-session workshop starting in late October in .

will offer the My Sustainable Sanctuary Series starting Oct. 20, the group announced Thursday in a news release. Participants can attend as many or as few classes as they choose.

The classes will be offer from 6 to 8 p.m. at the World Trade Center, 121 S. Meramec Ave. Dates and subjects will be as follows:

  • Oct. 20: My Energy-Efficient Environment, a class on how to save energy at home.
  • Oct. 26: My Healthy Habitat, a class on maintaining a safe and healthy home environment
  • Nov. 2: My Renewable Re-build, a class on construction projects using renewable resources
  • Nov. 10: My Healthy Harvest, a class on environmentally conscious lawn and garden care


Housing and environmental design specialist Kandace Fisher will lead the first three sessions, while horticulture specialist Nathan Brandt will lead the final session. Both are MU Extension employees.

Participants may attend any or all of the four sessions. Those who register for the whole series by Oct. 18 will pay $30 per household, which is $10 off the full price. The basic fee is $10 per session per household.
