Carlson, Carnahan Supporters Visit Heights on Election Day
Polls remain open until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning, Mary Wochner handed out fliers in support of 87th District candidate Rep. (D-University City) during the primary election at community center in Richmond Heights.
The two have been friends for 20 years.
"I think she's a very effective legislator," said Wochner, who noted that she's also friends with Carlson's opponent, Rep. (D-Richmond Heights). Redistricting pitted the two incumbents against each other.
Wochner said most voters arriving at The Heights weren't taking informational material. That's because they vote in every election and have already decided which candidates to support.
"This area has a long history of progressive voting," she said.
Cory Marler with the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2665 stood nearby with fliers of his own. The union is supporting Rep. (D-MO) to represent the 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
"He's helped us in the past," Marler said.
