Aldermen to Discuss Haddington Court Demolitions

The aldermen are expected to:

  • Consider a lease amendment with the Clayton Child Center, 1 . The ordinance is meant to "clarify any rent dispute and provide clarify as to how the surrender of the property will take place when the Child Center vacates the building at the end of the lease." The lease is set to expire Dec. 31, a request for board action document states.
  • Consider a resolution that will approve a contract with Ahrens Contracting for the demolition and removal of structures on Haddington Court. Twelve houses in the neighborhood have experienced flooding. Clayton public works director Mike Pratt told aldermen in February that houses could be torn down in connection with a voluntary buyout program in the neighborhood as early as the end of the year. At most, the demolition of all 12 houses would cost approximately $516,000. . Haddington Court is located north of Clayton Road between Clayshire Drive and Louwen Drive.
  • Consider a resolution to authorize reimbursement for capital expenditures involving street resurfacing and renovation at the new station in the 2011 fiscal year.
