Aldermen Agenda: Choice Restaurant Permit, Bonds for Clayton Projects

The Clayton Board of Aldermen is scheduled to meet beginning at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Discussion of a new restaurant and construction on the Tennis Center are among the items on the Tuesday agenda of the Clayton Board of Aldermen.

The meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. at with a discussion session about online access to the city's code, followed by a regular meeting at 7.

DISCUSSION SESSION — 6:15 P.M.


REGULAR MEETING — 7 P.M.

  • Hold a public hearing to consider granting a conditional use permit for , a new restaurant and catering company planned at 7807 Clayton Rd.
  • Consider approving an ordinance that would allow the city sell approximately $10 million in special obligation bonds. The funds will be used for ongoing renovation at the future headquarters at 10 S. Brentwood Blvd., work on the Shaw Park Tennis Center, improvements at , resurfacing on Wydown Boulevard and more.
  • Consider approving an ordinance that would amend the city's lease with the for the property at 1 . The updated lease would include a six-month extension expiring June 30.
  • Consider adopting a resolution to pay Heideman Associates $52,200 for engineering services as part of the renovation of the Shaw Park Tennis Center. The cost is $2,000 lower than the initial fee proposal, a memo from City Manager Craig Owens and parks director Patty DeForrest states. The budget for the overall project is $750,000.
  • Consider awarding contracts for ongoing work at the future Clayton police building, 10 S. Brentwood Blvd., to Pinnacle Contracting for general works and Brightergy for a solar array. The Pinnacle contract would equate to approximately $5.2 million, while the solar contract would equate to approximately $1.1 million. The city expects to be reimbursed approximately $762,000 for the solar project, resulting in a final cost of $345,500 for that work.
  • Consider reappointing as provisional judge, based on a nomination from Ward 3. Provisional judges serve at municipal court when the municipal judge is not available, a city document states.
