Tools, Motorcycle Stolen While Owner is in Jail

An air compressor, generator and Honda motorcycle were among the items stolen from the home of an Imperial man who was locked up in jail when it happened. The thefts reportedly occurred between Sept. 8-10 on Meadow Drive in Imperial. A burglar broke into an unlocked storage building and also nabbed some tools.

A burglar kicked in a garage door and broke into a home Sept. 12 in Imperial and ransacked the homeowner's sock drawer, finding $150 in cash.

Man Tries to Sell Live Hand Grenade

Kirkwood Police Department received an odd surprise when a man turned up with a military-issue hand grenade. Police said the man, from High Ridge, didn't realize the WWII grenade posed a danger

Burglar Swipes Shotgun, Diapers

A shotgun and a package of infant diapers were stolen Sept. 15 from a home on Edward Court, High Ridge. A woman reported to sheriff's deputies that someone entered her home through an unsecured rear door and stole a Remington 12-gauge shotgun, an X-Box game system and a package of infant diapers.

Motorcyclist Crashes During Police Chase

A motorcyclist, apparently fleeing police, crashed Sept. 18 on Romaine Creek Road near Crimson Oaks Drive, in Fenton. The deputy who was attempting a traffic stop contacted EMS when he discovered the motorcycle, a 2003 Honda CBR, and the motorcyclist laying on the road following a crash. The deputy also found a stolen handgun, a meth lab and another controlled substance. The motorcycle had been stolen.

A Lot of Yelling and Slapping Going On

  • A wife slapped her husband Sept. 5 in St. Charles for recording her yelling at their child. 
  • Boyfriend and girlfriend assaulted each other Sept. 8 in St. Charles after an argument about a dented trashcan.

Fleeing Suspect Dumps Girlfriend

A man in St. Charles, following a high-speed chase down residential streets on Sept. 12, ultimately bailed out of the vehicle, leaving his girlfriend inside. The vehicle came to rest 20 feet down a creek bank.
