Today Is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Locations around Clayton and Richmond Heights will be collecting and destroying potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs this Saturday.

The sixth annual, national drug take-back day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, with local officers partnering with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) officials to execute this initiative locally.

Both the Clayton and Richmond Heights Police Departments are participating in this event.

Organizers said the overall goal is to prevent unused prescription medication from becoming available for abuse, and to keep unused prescription medication out of the nation's water supply.
