Thief Steals Vehicle with Keys Left Inside and More

Wednesday, June 20
An attempted vehicle break-in was reported in the 7100 block of Clayton Road. The victim heard his car alarm and found that the perpetrator had tried to enter the vehicle by peeling back a rubber window seal and punching a door lock.

An attempted vehicle break-in was reported in the 7500 block of Hoover Avenue. The vehicle's car alarm sounded, and officers canvassing the area because of a recent break-in attempt found that the driver's side door handle and lock had been damaged. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.

An attempted vehicle break-in was reported in the 1000 block of Commodore Drive. A perpetrator had damaged a window seal on the vehicle, an officer said. Police left a business card at the homeowner's door.

An overnight vehicle theft was reported in the 1200 block of Arch Terrace. The vehicle was unlocked and its keys had been left inside of it at the time. A vehicle stolen in St. Louis city was found nearby. It was processed for prints, and a lab was expected to analyze the information.

A perpetrator reportedly rummaged through an unlocked vehicle overnight in the 1300 block of Arch Terrace. The vehicle had not been damaged, and nothing was missing.

Vehicle damage was reported overnight in the 1100 block of Claytonia Terrace. It appears a perpetrator tried to break into the vehicle, which resulted in damage to the driver's side door handle and the lock.

Boxing gloves were stolen overnight from the trunk of a vehicle in the 1400 block of Collins Avenue. The driver's side door handle and lock had been damaged in the break-in.

Change was stolen during an overnight vehicle break-in in the 7700 block of St. Albans Avenue. The driver's side door lock had been damaged.

The driver's side door handle of a Dodge pickup was reported damaged overnight in the 7300 block of Council Place. A perpetrator had entered the vehicle.

A toolbox and assorted tools were taken during a vehicle break-in in the 7700 block of St. Albans Avenue. The driver's side door lock had been damaged.

Three dollars in change was stolen overnight when a perpetrator entered an unlocked vehicle in the 7700 block of St. Albans Avenue.

A perpetrator rummaged through a vehicle overnight in the 1300 block of Arch Terrace. The victim also reported a cellphone missing. The cellphone had been located in the street near where her neighbor's car had been stolen, police said.

Thursday, June 21
A victim reported watching a perpetrator try to break into his vehicle in the 1200 block of Boland Place. After the victim called police, the suspect fled to a gray Volkswagen, which drove north on Boland. Police found a screwdriver and coat hanger at the scene.

Saturday, June 23

About $4 in change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 2000 block of Princeton Place.

A laptop and GPS were stolen overnight from an unlocked vehicle in the 1800 block of Princeton Place.

A victim reported damage to the driver's side door lock of her vehicle, which was parked in the 1700 block of Bellevue Avenue. The perpetrator did not get into the vehicle, and there were no suspects.

Two bags of clothing were reported stolen during a vehicle break-in on the south parking lot of the Saint Louis Galleria. A perpetrator damaged the driver's side door handle. There were no suspects.

Friday, June 29
A perpetrator reportedly smashed a vehicle window with a landscape stone and then stole a pair of designer sunglasses inside the vehicle in the Lake Forest Subdivision.
